Check times and book with Black Ball Ferry Line

Facts checked October 18, 2026 on the operator’s page. Always confirm with the operator before you travel.

How the trip works, step by step

1. Get to the Port Angeles terminal. The Black Ball terminal is at 101 E. Railroad Avenue, Port Angeles, WA 98362. Reserved vehicles should be there at least 60 minutes before departure and foot passengers at least 30 minutes before. Port Angeles is on the Olympic Peninsula, so most travellers from Seattle drive there; the drive is not part of the ferry fare or time shown on this page.

2. Check your documents. You are crossing an international border. Carry your passport, passport card, NEXUS card or an enhanced licence that Black Ball accepts, and children’s documents if they travel with you. Photocopies and phone images are not accepted. Everything on the operator’s ID page applies; this page only summarises it.

3. Cross the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The sailing takes about 90 minutes. On the October 2026 schedule, the Port Angeles departures are 8:20 am and 2:00 pm, and the Victoria departures are 10:30 am and 4:00 pm.

4. Arrive at Victoria’s Inner Harbour. The Victoria terminal is at 430 Belleville Street, Victoria, BC V8V 1W9, on the harbour. Canadian border officers check documents on arrival. The Victoria Clipper terminal is nearby at 470 Belleville Street.

Coho or another route?

The Coho is the only listed route from the US side that takes a car to downtown Victoria. If you are travelling without a car from Seattle, the Victoria Clipper is a passenger-only alternative that leaves from Seattle itself. If you start in Vancouver, see the Vancouver to Victoria ferry page. The direct Anacortes ferry is currently suspended.
